HOOPS AFRICA: UBUNTU MATTERS is a collection of stories celebrating the past, present and future of basketball in Africa and illuminating the impact of the sport on society and its development on the continent. From the dreams of a young Zimbabwean gamer to honoring the NBA legends who paved the way for him, this film travels through the game's growth in Africa. This documentary focuses on the nonprofit basketball players Hoops 4 Hope in South Africa and Zimbabwe. It reveals the role of Ubuntu's African philosophy in the Boston Celtics' 2008 NBA championship season and also documents the 2015 NBA Africa historic game. Starring Hakeem Olajuwon, Dikembe Mutombo, Adam Silver, Luol Deng, Luc Mbah and Moute, Chris Paul , Doc Rivers, Paul Pierce and many other NBA greats, this documentary shows us why #UbuntuMatters.
