RECESS

Six brave fourth graders from Third Street School make it their business to protect the other children in the playground. Despite the rule of King Bob and his servants enforcing his unwritten laws, T. J. , Ashley, Vince, Gus, Gretchen, and Mikey seek a rational balance between conformity and individuality. Recess is an American animated series created by Paul Germain and Joe Ansolabehere and produced by Walt Disney Television Animation. The series focuses on six elementary school students and their interactions with other classmates and teachers. The title refers to the period during the school day when children are out of class and outside in the school yard in North American society. One of the main features of the series is how the children form their own society, including government and class structure in a regular school setting. Recess first aired on ABC from 1997 to 2001, and reruns aired on the Disney Channel in the United States. The series' success led to its spreading in numerous countries around the world, particularly the UK, where it was broadcast on multiple channels including Toon Disney and Disney Channel UK.
